Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
