Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a American defense plane ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was forced to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
